Short Mass for String Trio: viola, cello and bass, 4 movements, 2002 Email me to order the score!! rebekah@rebekahgriffingreene.com I. Introit II. Kyrie III. Alleluia IV: Agnus Dei (unfortunately not performed on the You Tube video:) Click here to get to the YouTube video of students from Kinhaven performing the piece in 2006. The player below lets you hear the most recent performance I did of this piece at the Third Street Music School Settlement in NYC from October 29, 2010, with all 4 movements.:) Viola: Ina Litera, cello: Shanda Wooley, bass: Rebekah Griffin Greene. Enjoy!:)
Another interpretation: Unbeknownst to me, virtuoso bassist Volkan Orhon had replaced my friend Sam Ferrer as the bass teacher at Kinhaven (Sam got a job with the Hong Kong Philharmonic!), and had taken the Short Mass back to the University of Iowa, where he teaches, and even performed it in a faculty recital in November of 2003. Had I known about this I would have been thrilled, and would gladly have given them the music for the 4th movement. Alas, no attempt was made to contact me, and since Sam had never handed out copies of the 4th movement to the students (he thought it would be too difficult), Volkan did not have that music, and thus they only performed three movements. I found out about this performance randomly in 2006, via the Internet, and had very mixed emotions about it. Nevertheless, I am impressed with their performance, and they offer a different interpretation, which is always welcome.:) Volkan Orhon, bass, Christine Rutledge, viola, Anthony Arnone, cello, Faculty Chamber Concert, University of Iowa, Clapp Recital Hall, November 14, 2003
